Abe will not be available for adoption unless/until after his owner comes forward to sign surrender documents or until after the legal waiting period has expired and he is voted read for adoption by the members of the rescue's board of directors. A lady called us in tears! She and her husband were at their wits end! Someone had talked her husband into letting them keep their horses and minis on their property over a year ago. They said they would pay all the expenses, buy feed and hay and care for the animals. It just did not happen that way, and after not seeing the owner for a year, this woman and her husband did not have the means to continue caring for and feeding these animals that did not belong to them. Animal control had paid them a visit, and they could not take responsibility for these animals any longer! Animal Control is aware of the situation, this is not the first time they were notified about this same owner and her lack of ability to care for her animals. They tried to contact the owner and she just would not answer their calls or texts. What else could they do? They did not want to animals to suffer, so they called PPER! They were all wormy and in desperate need of hoof care. They do have their shots, but will need a vet evaluation to check their age and health.
