Pepe is being offered for adoption to the person who will love him and treat him like the pet he is, who will get him gelded or ensure that he is never going to be around a Jenny. We were making arrangements for Pepe, Cletus and Eli to come to us just as the Covid stay home orders hit. Their owners were in the hospital and the owner's daughter lived in Florida. Unfortunately their owners were never to return home and they needed a rescue fast! We brought all three back to PPER.

Cletus the 35 year old mini donkey is Pepe's daddy. Eli the mammoth donkey's sister was Pepe's mom. So Pepe is a bit mixed up and absolutely adorable. He lived his entire life in the back yard of his owner's house and absolutely loves attention because he was their baby boy. While Pepe shows the instinct to be a guard donkey, he is first and foremost a loving pet and needs attention and to be loved on regularly! Pepe also needs to be gelded! He is very hormonal and the first time he smelled a girl donkey he went a bit crazy, so he is having to stay in the special needs area now until we can raise funds to get him gelded. Pepe also turned out to be cryptorchid so his gelding will require a trip to state for surgery! Pepe is being offered for adoption to the person who will treat him like the pet he is, who will get him gelded or ensure that he will never be around a Jenny.
